Chola Bronzes

Bronze figure casting has been in vogue for a long time in India, In Southern India, Pallava could be considered the first dynasty to cast the divine figures in Bronze. But Chola who followed the Pallava, mastered the art of bronze casting and took the art to unseen heights in the grace and realistic features which could be brought into the divine bronzes. The chola bronze can be found in worship in almost majority of the temples in either bank of the river Kaveri. This Volume attempts to consolidate and present Masterpieces of the Chola Bronzes, which will be a feast to the lovers of Indian Art.
